This guide covers standard specification for weldedstainless steel tubing for mechanical applications where appearance, mechanicalproperties, or corrosion resistance is needed. The tubes shall be made fromflat-rolled steel by an automatic welding process without the addition offiller metal. Tubes shall be furnished in one of the following shapes - round,square, rectangular, or special. Heat analysis shall be performed whereinseveral grades of steel shall conform to the required chemical composition forcarbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, nickel, chromium, molybdenum,titanium, columbium, and tantalum.
